2 Ways to Clean Your Drains
When your drains start to drain slowly, it is generally a sign that you have something clogging up your drain. You want to try and get that dealt with before it gets too bad, because if your pipes and drains become completely clogged up, then you may end up with a lot of other problems that can be even more of a problem. There are things that you can do that will help with getting your drain cleared out and back to working the way that it should.
1. Use Hair Removal Tools
Even people who have short hair shed a lot of hair, especially in the shower. Washing your hair can cause any loose hairs to fall out, and those hairs can get washed down into the drain. As more and more hair collects in the pipes, it narrows the pipes and then will collect more hair and any other stuff that gets washed down the drain. There are hair removal tools that you can use to help get that hair out of the pipes. These tools are made of plastic and easy to use. You may have to remove the drain plate before you feed the tool in there, but after that, you can use it to snag all the hair and get it out of your pipes.
2. Use Drain Cleaners
If you are having problems with the drains in your kitchen, you may want to try using various drain cleaning products. Some products are designed specifically to clean pipes, which is different from products that are used to clear out clogs. The ones that are designed to clean the pipes will generally have some kind of expanding foam. The foam will expand outwards when it's poured down into the pipes. As that foam goes down, it will clear the gunk off the side of the pipes and get rid of the narrowing of the pipes. You may have to use one of these products a time or two to get everything cleared off.
If you have tried everything you can to get your drain cleared out and it doesn't work, then you are going to need to call drain cleaning services in and have them clear out your pipes for you. They will be able to run some tools down through your drains and clean all that gunk out and get your pipes draining the way that they should. To begin the process, contact services such as Roto Rooter Sewer & Drain Service.
